No, not a frame made of wire that you can train your roses over! But a tool for demonstrating how a website or app might look and behave: the foundation of every digital experience that you have ever used.

Wireframes actually SHOW you the basics of your website or app: what information will be displayed, where it goes on the pages and how a visitor will travel from one place to another. We go a step further.

What is a wireframe?

Imagine taking all the pages out of a book (sacrilege I know, but stick with me!), and laying them on the table in order.

Now imagine a ‘Choose your own adventure book’ (showing my age here!) laid out on the table showing the different decisions you could make from one page and where that might take you. Now you’re getting to what a wireframe is: a bird’s eye view of all the pages in a website or app:

1. It shows the information that will be displayed on each page.

2. It gives an outline of structure and layout of the page.

3. It details the overall direction and description of the user interface.
   
   

Why our wireframes our different

We use a virtual whiteboard called Miro that allows clients and collaborators from around the world to access it all at the same time. Each set of wireframes is UNIQUE.

The level of detail we include is MORE than your average whiteboard. We can only do this because of the relationships we have with our clients: we really LISTEN and so they really TRUST us.

Effective briefing meetings ensure we have such a good vision of what’s needed and that we can produce something showing so much more than functionality: you get a real sense of scale and the visual intent of the final product too.

There is an argument that much simpler wireframes should be presented first so that no one goes off on a tangent. This is only a danger if the designers haven’t listened properly to the brief and we ALWAYS LISTEN. We use more basic level wireframes in initial meetings and internal discussions before creating them on Miro.
