Webflow's membership feature ends January 29th: what you need to know

Webflow is disabling User Accounts (aka Memberships) its native membership feature, across all sites.
If you're running a subscription business, membership community, or gated content site on Webflow, this deadline changes everything.
The businesses that understand what's happening now will transition smoothly. The ones that don't will face disruption, lost revenue, and frustrated members.
Here's what you need to know.
Why Webflow is sunsetting memberships
Webflow made a strategic decision: focus on what it does best, visual website building, rather than compete with specialised membership platforms.
It's a sensible choice.
Membership management, subscription billing, member analytics, and authentication are complex problems. They deserve dedicated solutions built by specialists, not features bolted onto a design platform.
Webflow's native User Accounts couldn't match what specialised platforms deliver.
Development stopped in December 2024. The sunsetting is now happening.
What changes on Thursday 29th January
Here's the situation according to Webflow:
- You'll lose access to User Accounts and all User Accounts data, as it will not be migrated to the CMS.
- User Accounts pages will be migrated to regular static pages.
- For businesses using Webflow Ecommerce with paid subscriptions through Stripe: your subscriptions will continue to charge through Stripe. But your members lose login access, lose access to gated content, and lose their account data.
- You'll be charging customers for access they can no longer get.
This isn't a theoretical risk. This is what happens if you don't migrate.
The timeline is fixed. There's no extension, no grace period, no last-minute reprieve.
The real opportunity
Most agencies are sitting back, hoping this problem doesn't land on their client list.
Some are scrambling to understand what Outseta is, or Memberstack, or any of the alternative platforms that could fill the gap.
But there's a different story happening for the agencies that already solved this problem for real clients.
The ones that tested membership solutions against real requirements. The ones that discovered which platforms actually work at scale. The ones that built genuine conviction about what works best.
Those agencies now have a genuine market advantage.
They're not theorising about membership migration. They've lived it.
How we met Outseta
Last year, we migrated The Worshipful Company of International Bankers (WCIB) livery company from a legacy website with an unstable CiviCRM integration to a Webflow website with a seamless Outseta integration.
- We didn't pick Outseta because it was the cheapest option, or the easiest to implement, or because we had a partnership waiting.
- We picked it because it was the best solution for what the WCIB needed to achieve.
- We implemented it end-to-end and discovered it integrated beautifully with Webflow.
- We identified where custom work was necessary.
- We managed the transition for the WCIB’s live member base without losing revenue or access.
It worked so well that we became official Outseta Partners. Not because we chased a certification or completed a training programme, but because we'd proven we understood their solution deeply enough to recommend it with genuine conviction.
The partnership came after the proof.
Why this matters for businesses with membership features
You now have a choice.
A: You can work with an agency that will google "Webflow membership alternatives," recommend whichever platform seems reasonable, and hope you can navigate the rest yourself. You'll eventually migrate. You might lose members in the process. You'll definitely spend more time and money than necessary.
Or
B: You can work with the UK agency that is both a Webflow Enterprise Partner and an Outseta Partner, who chose Outseta because it's genuinely the best solution, and who's already executed this exact transition successfully.
An agency that understands both platforms because they've implemented them together for a client like yours.
And the agency that has conviction about why Outseta works, not just technical knowledge about how to set it up.
That's not arrogance. It's the logical outcome of having actually solved this problem and chosen to become deeper experts in the solution.
Why timing matters right now
Time is short.
The businesses that will migrate smoothly are making calls this week. They're assessing their situation, understanding their options, and committing to action.
The businesses that wait will be stressed. The ones that wait until late January will be in crisis.
Membership migration is one of those projects where preparation changes everything.
A properly planned transition can happen cleanly in 3-4 weeks. A rushed transition takes just as long but creates problems that compound afterwards.
The difference is whether you start now or later.
What comes next
If you're running a membership site on Webflow, the question isn't whether you need to migrate.
You do. The deadline is fixed.
The question is whether you migrate with guidance from an agency that's genuinely solved this problem, or whether you figure it out yourself.
We'll assess your membership setup, clarify the timeline, and show you exactly what a smooth transition looks like based on what we've already done.
No guesswork. No surprises. Just the perspective of an agency that's already helped others with the issues you are facing now.
